I had the same problem, and following the steps in this blog post fixed it for me. I am running Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 2008 Server.

Great post, I've just bought one of these with a AMD Sempron 3300+ included to build my girlfriend a computer for her birthday. I have a few questions though:

Anything pre-vista requires a floppy? What does that mean exactly?
How does Vista run on this?
Also, a DVD drive for £9? Where?! heh

The wireless drivers I used were I think some 64 bit XP versions. The file I used is D90K_MS6833B_X64.EXE if you can't find it then email me and I'll send it over.

I own a clevo d900k too. I've decided to take the plunge and give Vista 64 a go, but I am having trouble finding the drivers for the wireless card, the AP-Key, and the USB controlled LED (not too worried about the silly lightshow that alienware slapped onto the lid). Were you able to find these? I tried updating through windows without any luck.

I'd been having exactly the same problem. I'd installed Firefox and it had decided that I'd DEFINITELY want to use my own colours, rather than having websites that worked.

Strange, but there you go.

Now all sorted. Magic.

So far it just works for me with Vista. The x86 RC1 and prebeta version worked fine out of the box (note there are some beta Vista drivers on the Nvidia site but I've never used them) but I could get it to shutdown the laptop sucessfully so I've gone back to 64 bit windows
For the AMD64 version I just used the inbox Geforce Go7800 driver after telling windows to show all drivers.

I have an Alienware with the Go 7900 which works fine with the Sager graphics driver but I cannnot get glass to work, anyone got any ideas, I tried installing directX 9, still not working.

I have a Go 7400 in my SZ120P/B. Is there a way that I could get the glass to work on my notebook with 5308? I saw the changes you made for the 64Bit version and the Go7400 is listed.

I think you're right. I have a nice four hour train journey coming up where I can do some work without the internet distracting me. I think I have the basics down, just need to figure out the best way of presenting it.
In particular I'd like do more stuff on the "subtle" ways of screwing up.
